Tradition Among the Youth By Josh Sukie A Sanctum Catholicam Conference Presenter In the midst of Church crisis, while Mass attendance shrivels, churches close, seminaries dry up, and true faith seems to be dying, traditional communities flourish. These communities, small though they may be, are fervent groups of truly faithful Catholics centered on one point: an unapologetic belief in the full Catholic faith and the celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass. And while one may expect these communities to be composed of aged individuals, attached to the practice of their youth, the extraordinary life of these groups finds its origin in the great numbers of young people drawn to the experience of almost 20 centuries of unbroken Catholic life. Beauty, The Liturgy and Life...Introducing one of the Sanctum Catholicam Conference Presenters

We are pleased to introduce Mark Nowakowski, one of the Sanctum Catholicam Conference presenters. Mark Nowakowski is a composer whose music has been performed internationally and recently released on a new Naxos disc garnering ample praise from Gramophone magazine. He is also an Assistant Professor of Music at Kent State University, and is currently finishing his first book "In Pursuit of Beauty: An authentic Catholic examination of music, the arts, and aesthetics." His reversion into the Catholic Church, and subsequently the traditional Mass, was lead in large part by an authentic rediscovering of the Catholic concept of Beauty and the role of the arts in the life of man. In his talk he will discuss what Catholics should really mean when they consider the "beautiful," clarify an authentically Catholic approach to the arts, discussing where the good and true meets the beautiful in liturgy and life.
